Getting Started
Your First Video
Step-by-step guide to generating your first AI video with Flenly
Your First Video
Let's create your first AI-generated video. This walkthrough takes about 5 minutes.
Step 1: Create a Project
- From your dashboard, click New Project.
- Give it a name (e.g., "My First Animation").
- You'll be taken to the project editor with a visual timeline.
Step 2: Add a Scene
- Click Add Scene on the timeline.
- Give your scene a name (e.g., "Opening Shot").
- Write a prompt describing what you want to see. Be specific:
A golden retriever running through a sunlit meadow with wildflowers, slow motion, cinematic lighting, warm color palette
Better prompts lead to better results. Describe the subject, action, setting, camera angle, lighting, and mood.
Step 3: Configure and Render
- Choose a model — For your first video, we recommend Seedance 1.5 Pro (affordable at 4 coins/second) or Veo 3.1 Fast (higher quality at 13 coins/second).
- Set the duration — Start with 5 seconds.
- Pick a resolution — 1080p is a good default.
- Click Render — The coin cost is shown before you confirm.
Step 4: Watch It Generate
After clicking render:
- Your credits are reserved immediately.
- The AI model starts processing your prompt.
- You'll see a progress indicator — most models take 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
- Once ready, your video plays directly in the editor.
If a render fails for any reason, your credits are automatically refunded.
Step 5: Add More Scenes
Repeat the process to add more scenes to your project. You can:
- Enable scene continuity to visually connect scenes (the last frame of one scene becomes the reference for the next).
- Drag and drop scenes on the timeline to reorder them.
- Use different models for different scenes if you want.
Step 6: Export
Once all your scenes are rendered, click Export to combine them into a single video file.
Tips for Better Results
- Be descriptive — Include details about lighting, camera angle, mood, and style.
- Use negative prompts — Tell the AI what to avoid (e.g., "no text, no blur, no distortion").
- Start short — Try 4-5 second clips first, then go longer once you're happy with the style.
- Use characters — Create a character profile for consistent appearance across scenes.
- Try different models — Each model has a different visual style. See the model comparison.
