Timeline Editor
Using Flenly's visual timeline to arrange and preview your video
Timeline Editor
The timeline editor is where you build your video. It provides a visual overview of all your scenes and lets you arrange, preview, and manage them.
Editor Layout
The project editor consists of:
- Canvas — The main preview area showing your selected scene's video or thumbnail
- Timeline — A horizontal track at the bottom showing all scenes in order
- Scene Panel — Configuration options for the selected scene (prompt, model, settings)
Working with the Timeline
Arranging Scenes
- Drag and drop scenes to reorder them on the timeline
- Scenes play in order from left to right in the final export
Aspect Ratio
Set the aspect ratio for your project's canvas:
| Ratio | Best For |
|---|---|
| 16:9 | Standard widescreen (YouTube, presentations) |
| 9:16 | Vertical video (TikTok, Instagram Reels, Shorts) |
| 1:1 | Square format (Instagram posts, social media) |
| 4:3 | Classic format |
Preview
Click on any completed scene to preview its video directly in the canvas. You can review each scene before exporting.
Undo & Redo
The editor supports full undo/redo for timeline changes. If you accidentally reorder or delete something, you can step back.
Auto-Save
Your project saves automatically every 2 seconds as you make changes. You don't need to manually save — your work is always preserved.
